The GeoPoint geology database contains catalogued geodata from geological maps, cross sections, mineral occurrences and geochronological information.
GeoPoint welcomes user feedback and contributions to expand our database.
GeoPoint represents more than six years of research and collation of data and metadata on African geology from peer-reviewed scientific and publicly-available technical literature by experienced geo-scientists.
GeoPoint is designed to operate seamlessly with other spatial datasets within the familiar ArcGIS™ platform to improve workflow efficiency.
Extensive live data
The GeoPoint database is compiled of more than 10 000 digitised map extents, cross-sections, age and mineral occurrences from approximately 2000 sources. GeoPoint is updated on a continual basis as new data becomes available.
